Alsager Carnival - June 19th 2010

Theme - Nations of the World

The 2010 Summer Carnival was another great event with glorious weather to keep a smile on everyone's faces. Attendance is thought to have reached about 4,500 and drew visitors from all over the region.

The theme for this year's Carnival was 'International' and again the parade through Alsager lived up to expectations causing more than a few heads to turn at the sight of Big Ben travelling along Crewe Road closely followed by a Chinese Dragon!

Our Carnival Queen for 2010, Miss Chloe Walsh, lead the parade giving a big smile and wave to the crowds, showing the Royal Family how to do it properly.
After leading the parade to the school fields, Chloe opened this year's event at 1pm and let the crowds start the fun.

New for 2010 was the addition of Zorbing, a Climbing Wall, Cheshire Search & Rescue Team, and the main act of the M.A.D Mountain Bike Display Team wowing the crowd with their demonstration of precision jumps and biking skills. In addition to the main attractions, over 40 local charities and businesses put on a wide range of stalls to raise money for good causes.

Alsager Carnival is organised by Alsager Round Table with support from Rotary, Ladies Circle, The Scouts and the Alsager Community Trust.
We extend our gratitude to Alsager School and the Leisure Centre for allowing us to use their premises for such a fantastic community event.

If you have any suggestions for entertainment or activities you'd like to see at next year's Summer carnival then please contact Alsager Round Table on
