Circus

June 21st 2008





			Carnival Queen 2008 was Jennifer Hargreaves.

Best float was won by Christchurch (Alsager) and St. Lukes (Oakhanger). Best fancy dress: Amiee Standring and Emily Steer. Best walking float: Wesley Place Methodist Church. Oatcake champions: (mens): Nathan Whitehall (ladies): Lesley Moore (under 16): Delta Swift
Circusology	Circusology	Chester Mazing	Crazy Tramps
Main features were Circusology, Blackpool Circus School and Chester Amazing. In the arena there was a trampoline performance by the Crazy Tramps.
	There were many charity stalls including a project to construct a classroom in Burundi. A £1 'Burundi Bear' (knitted by WI's) buys 4 bricks. Alsager has sold 2000 bears in one year and completed one classroom. A 4th school is about to be completed. More info:- Facilitaid
		Side stalls included Triton Hockey Club 'Beat the Goalkeeper' and Alsager Chess Club.
		Regular events included the World Oatcake Throwing Championship and Dog Show organised by Alsager Animals in Need as well as the childrens races. The finale was the balloon race.
