PR AGENCY BRINGS TOP QUALITY COMEDY TO MITCHELL ARTS CENTRE

Absolute Radio presenter Alun Cochrane is to headline a new comedy night at the Mitchell Arts Centre in May.

The co-host of Frank Skinner’s Saturday morning breakfast show, and regular on shows like Mock The Week and 8 Out Of 10 Cats, the Yorkshireman will appear alongside three other comedians at Stand Up For Stoke on May 16th.

Also on the bill are presenter of BBC Three’s Snog Marry Avoid Ellie Taylor, alongside Paul McMullan and MC Luke Graves.

The adults-only show has been organised by Staffordshire PR agency Richard Swancott Associates, who are looking to use their event promotion experience to liven up Stoke-on-Trent’s nightlife.

MD Richard Swancott said: “There is a dearth of top quality stand-up entertainment in the city, compared to cities of similar sizes.

“Nottingham, for example, has three comedy clubs for a population roughly the same size as ours.

“So we decided to do something about it by lining up four high calibre comedians. We want to host at least one event per month in the city centre.”

Tickets are £10 each and are available from Richard Swancott Associates, Music Mania, and the Mitchell Arts Centre box office.
